What is Depression, Really?
Did you know that there are many forms of depression? Do you know which one you or someone you know might be struggling with?
When you understand what you’re dealing with, it becomes easier to find the right method to return to a normal everyday life. Ever since I started experiencing depression, I have felt others’ misinterpretations, ignorance, and ideas about what depression is. All other illnesses could be discussed, but the topic of depression was preferably swept under the rug.
“It is just a matter of pulling yourself together”
Common misconception of depression

The label “depression” is so much broader than most people think. Most have attached the same label to everything related to depression. In this book, I address various types of depression, although I haven’t covered them all.
I hope that those who read this book will be able to identify where they belong in the world of depression and find the tools I’ve provided valuable. That they can help.
If, through this book, I can increase understanding of one’s own condition and help someone out of their darkness, it will all be worth it.
With this book, I hope to create a glimmer of hope, so that you who need it can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Author Bio
Kate T. Gulliksson has personally experienced depression since the age of 10 and has observed how it has changed over the years. She has experimented with various techniques to find alternatives to antidepressants, including meditation, breathing exercises, physical activity, nutrition, self-hypnosis, Thought Field Therapy, Functional Neurology, and more. Kate has extensively studied her own condition and how society responds to it.
She believes that different tools are needed for different types of depression. What works for mild and moderately severe depressions, or for those experiencing their first to third depressive episodes, usually works much less effectively for severe and chronic depression. Heavy depressions evolve over time, even if they appear the same on the surface.
